Charlie: It’s taken a while for me to get back to you, but I want to thank you for doing such a splendidl job with the bike fitting. I was sick last week, but yesterday I finally went out and did sixty miles on my bike. I had noticed some improvement on the trainer, but out on the road I found that the difference was significant. I had more power and my pedaling was more “fluid” and easier. I also felt more relaxed and comfortable. The new handlebar setup is terrific, too; I have an easy time in the drops. As a former member of the US Ski team and Inventor of the PowerBahn, I have worked and trained with the Nations top strength and conditioning coaches in the NFL,NBA, NCAA, US Ski Team etc. I have found that Kelli has provided the best strength and injury prevention training I have ever had. I didn’t believe him…. I really didn’t… Charlie kept telling me that my bike fit was keeping me from riding and pedaling efficiently. You know those drills where our ankles are supposed to move around while we pedal??? I struggled every time and just figured my ankle wasn’t designed to work that way….. something in the genes…an anti-flexible-ankle gene. FInally, Charlie’s ongoing attempts to help me improve my cycling form convinced me to come in for a bike fit. His attention to detail on the bike fit was unbelievable, and there is the added benefit of his coaching while he sorts through all the angles and distances. Seat went back a bit, bar went down a bit, angle of the drops was changed, cleats moved several times… the list goes on…. The next day in class after the bike fit was remarkable. I could actually do what Charlie said! I’m on the ME program, and I could tell that my efficiency had improved by my lowered heart rate at my ME watt level. I can’t wait to try this out on the road. Thanks for taking so much time with me Tuesday. It was really a fascinating experience. I took my first ride today and it was a revelation. I really felt like I was on a completely different bike. I was riding much faster but with a lot less effort, more comfort in my body and better control of the bike. My mind was blow! I was also very conscious of the pedal stroke and it felt great. My feet didn’t hurt during, or after, the ride.

I’m not good at this kind of stuff in person but I wanted you to know how important the last 18 months have been for me at Endurance.
Up until I was in my 20s I was always the fat kid, picked last for sports, and I never developed any athletic skills. For the next 20 years I would go to the gym, throw around some weights and do cardio, but it never really did anything for me. And it was an obligation, nothing I enjoyed.
Then I bought that Trek road bike, started your class in January ’08 and that set off a huge change for me. The more I rode, and the more I got your coaching, the more I enjoyed riding. And I got better.
For the first time in my life I had a sport that I liked and that I didn’t suck at. I wanted to ride more. The pounds came off and my watts went up. After years.
That’s the story about how important your coaching and counsel has been for me. It may sound like an exaggeration, but it changed my life. I have a completely altered perception of what I’m capable of.
All in a year and a half. So I just wanted to say thanks Charlie!
